This one was made with fabric that I bought during my honeymoon in Japan. This was before I was sewing but I was so drawn to them, I knew I had to have them. They were sold in squares, perfectly packaged, maybe to be used as handkerchiefs. Five years later, I made a quilt out of them. We went during cherry blossom season and this quilt holds many happy memories.

I went with a random wavy quilting pattern which framed the square fabrics, I was free motion quilting before I even knew it existed.

I LOVE the backing on this. It’s watercolory with gold foil. I’m always on the lookout for non floral backings!
