I wish I had kept better records of why I started quilting. I’ve always loved making things. I'm guessing I saw something online that I wanted to try assuming it would be just another hobby that would last me a few months, I’ve been known to be a serial hobbiest. I also had an old friend that really loved quilting, I saw her do it once and the process stuck with me. Luckily, I start Instagram accounts for all my hobbies and I have this one dated October 18, 2019 so I do have some record of this first quilt.

I'm looking at it now and wow it's a total piece of crap. I hate the patterns and colors I chose. The binding, which is now my one of my favorite parts of a quilt, is awfully stitched. It's just so ugly, I love it. I’m working on #13 now so that will give some reference as to how much time has passed since #1 was made and when this text was written.

It’s just so ugly, I love it.
