When my sister-in-law asked me to make a hanging quilt for the new Spicy Moon on Bowery (spicy vegan food!), I knew I wanted something light and airy. I had been reading about a traditional Korean quilting technique called Pojagi and thought it would be a great way to do that. The end result is a single layered quilt that is finished on both sides. I’d love to try this out with quilting cotton someday.

I used 4 different shades of pink and improvised!

To make this quilt, I first sewed 2 pieces of fabric together with the bottom (white) piece sticking out about 1/4”. Then I opened up the fabric and folded the white piece over the pink piece and sewed along the edge. Not the best explanation but there a lot of great tutorials out there already.

And then #17 had babies with really creative names. I had some leftover material and used them to make some framed art.

The entire space turned out amazing and “super vibey” thanks to the talented Emily. I’m thankful that she included me and my siblings in the design!
