This one also feels very me, which is exactly what I am going for with this entire project, I just want to figure out who I am. I love how the colors came together. Gentle feather is a beautiful griege color, one of my favorite solids, and the olive oil adds a pop of color. I find that colors on the bolts are overwhelming so I’m happy that I loved the colors in the end.
The quilt top came together pretty quickly. I love strip piecing. It’s a quick way to make something that looks like it took much longer. The result is that checkered pattern.
I also tried flying geese 4 at a time using a technique I saw on AGF’s instagram: Link. It’s how all the triangles are made. The little pieces were so cute before I cut them.
It’s hard to tell from the pictures but I used a light pink thread to quilt the fabric together. A nice way to choose thread color is to test it out using scraps. The pink surprisingly really brought the whole quilt together. I will be using more colored thread!
One for the blooper reel - I thought I might want a thin olive oil border around the checkers but decided against it.
